    Default GO! Flying Triangles Block

How do you sew this together? Is this going to involve some "Y" seams?
    http://www.accuquilt.com/shop/go-fly...k-pattern.html
    Thanks for all your help.

If you sew it as pictured yes it will have Y seams. But if you make the blue / light orange round out of hst and squares, (the blue triangle and the lt orange right next to it as hst, then the middle lt orange rectangle as a square, hope that make sense) you could do it w/o Y seams. However they are selling the "Go" so if it cuts the blue triangle as shown it will have Y seams.

You could divide it into 2 HST's and one Flying Geese or you could
divide it into 4 HST's (for each quarter).

I went to your original link in your thread where it showed a picture of the block and had a downloadable pattern there. Arn't the instructions on how to make this block in the free downloadable pattern?

If you're afraid of "Y" seams, don't be. I was until I worked on a diamond logcabin pattern. Once the blocks were together it was all "Y" seams putting the blocks together. I marked the "1/4" at each end and matched them up and stitched. Its not that I love "Y" seams but I have a very healthy respect for them now........................also glad that part of the pattern is done too..........:-)

Just a question. When you find a pattern like this one and it is designed to be cut with the accuquilt or other die cutting tools are there also instructions for cutting with a rotary cutter as well or do you have to cut it with the dies?
