I'm a Jersey Girl who "snowbirded" in FL in a 5th wheel for about 5 yrs and I always took my machine. Actually I bought it in FL the first year out and took lessons from the LQS. Now we live in FL and summer in our 5th wheel in NJ to be near the g'kids. I take my Janome 760 and try to make up and take only "kits" of what I'd like to accomplish. Last year I didn't get much quilting done, but I did make about 25 or so superhero capes for my grandson's birthday party. Boy was I glad I had it, cause I was the behind-the-scenes superhero! The hugs I got WOW.

Never taken my machine camping. We alway's pretty much roughed it even though we had a pop-up trailer for 15 years. Too busy hiking, fishing, and enjoying communing with nature.

I've taken mine camping. I set it up outside under the awning on the picnic table. It's relaxing, great light and lots of fresh air. You meet lots of curious people who wonder what your doing.

I haven't taken mine camping as our travel trailer is small 15' I think. We're looking into getting a bigger one, but until then I don't plan to. I did buy a Singer portable Red Eye at a flea market in VA, does that count :)
