Yes, G Street Fabrics. They have several locations. Lovely selections. They started out years ago in the center of DC but have moved out. Rockville, Md. and Seven Corners, Va are the two that readily come to mind. PM me if you want directions. D.C. is much prettier in the spring. Have fun and good luck.

Agree with fivepaws 100%. Love G Street Fabrics. Haven't been since moving to TN but always loved going.

Great ideas! I think I'll do the Falls Church branch of G St Fabrics and then head out sightseeing at Great Falls and do the Jinny Beyer shop. My DD is in DC and wherever she is is springtime for me. Even last month when she was visiting us in MA during the October snowstorm which left us without power for days.

    Happy thanksgiving!

Thanks for the good ideas - I didn't make it to G Street but I did get to the Jinny Beyer Studio, which was very impressive - I got to see some quilts in progress and peek at the back of the quilt top and admire the stitching, and of course all the fabric. Then off to Great Falls Park, then to a winery tour...can't wait for the next trip!

When you come back check out the Quilt patch in fairfax...I like g street especially when they have coupons but it's more a fabric store to me than a quilting store. Don't get me wrong they have lots of quilting fabric, but they don't really specialize in it so the atmosphere is different.

I wasn't a quilter when I went to Jinny Beyer's studio years ago. I went away without buying anything! I might drive back to my old neighborhood (~550 miles) and go back just to visit quilt shops. Got me a new reliable vehicle, so I can actually follow through on that now!

That is a beautiful area. We visited Chrysalis winery in Middleburgh and stopped in a little village called Aldie where they had barbecue cooking outside the general store, and had a great day. If you take a road trip, good luck and have fun!

G STREET is da bomb! Love it, went there all the time (all the stores) while living in Vienna (VA) or visiting friends in Maryland. I also very much like the Quilt Patch in Fairfax, Virginia - http://www.quiltpatchva.com/.
