Here's the link to a thread on this board about shot cotton. http://www.quiltingboard.com/main-f1...on-t61383.html I learned something today as I didn't know what it was. It is cotton that is woven with two different color threads to give it depth and shimmer.

I would think that you will be able to find almost everything you want there. Or at least information on how and where to find it. Have fun. I've never been to a quilting convention. Be sure and let us know how it goes.

You can get the paper hexagons (and other shapes) from Paper Pieces at www.paperpieces.com They have a great site! I do not know what shot cotton is.

Latrinka you should plan on going to Houston in Oct or Nov. It is AWSOME !!!!!. Set a budget befor you go and stick to it.....Ha Ha Or bring your DH along to pay and carry packages for you. It helps for them to see that there are MANY other ladies that quilt. hugs....PS I am a Yellow Jacket, Class of 1953, old Center Street .

If you see something you want to mull over, make a note of the item and vendor number. Otherwise you may not be able to find it later! Have fun.

Thanks so much for the info. I missed above. I have seen fabric like this. I didn't know what it was called!

Bring a big bag to put all your shopping treasures in, it will be easier than juggling the bags and possibly losing one. A backpack is another option, but many locations may not allow (or strollers, wheelie bags, etc) them so look at the website for rules. Camera with EMPTY memory card that has been fully charged. Did you know that many have demos/workshops and classes. Wear good walking shoes and eat breakfast before you go.

I was at Tennessee Quilts in Jonesboro, Tennessee last week. They had a huge selection of shot cottons. Any color you want. They told me they could ship anything. http://tennesseequilts.com/
