    Oooooooooohhh I hadn't thought about using the large plastic dish foot as a guide for doing fm spirals. That would work...will have to scurry off and see if I have one of those!!! Thanks heaps everyone!

    I have quilted spirals on my Janome several times. I found the easiest way that works for me is to turn the quilt counter clockwise. I can't use the guide on my walking foot though but it seems to feed easier into the machine and I can push the excess through the harp. Good luck.
