Congrats! Grandchildren are so awsome. I have 4 and love each of them to pieces. I really like pinwheel quilts for babies, then fmq some motion. You can give them great colors to look at. I usually do one side in vivid colors and the other side soothing. Of course not all the quilts are the same. And babies can never have too may quilts, so MAKE THEM ALL!

The quilt pattern I used for my granddaughter was called Grandmother's fan. I had to make my own templetes to use for a baby quilt size, but it turned out beautiful! I added a wide soft lace ruffle around the edge, and small lace at the bottom of the blades. Made a matching pillow, but her mom lost that when she borrowed it. Since I was going to be doing a lot of babysitting, I had a crib here and the quilt stayed at my house. Probably the only reason the quilt is still around LOL I posted a picture of it on here several months ago. as much as we love our children, you wonder hopw we could possibly love more, but I swear, I think we do when the grands arrive. The best is yet to be!!

Congratulations, it's the greatest thing in the whole world. I am working on #4 quilt baby girl due in Feb. It's a ladybug polka dot pattern found on the web. Yellow Brick Road is a nice pattern.

congratulations. I think I was more anxious for my grandchildren to arrive than I was for my own children. They are so precious and sweet. Have fun searching the internet for patterns. There are tons of them.
