Is this a good deal?

Dear Tate,
I am sorry to say that it had been sold when I went back. Heartbroken to say the least. The store manager told me when I went back that it had come from his own home. He has a treadle at home (couldn't give me any details) so I told him I would come back in a week to get serial no etc and asked if he could take a picture of it. If it sounds good I'll let you know and since you live in Cary I'll let you know of any machines I find in the future (that I don't want.)

Last week found a 500A (1961) in a wonderful desk for $25.00. Machine is pretty gummed up with some white stuff on the gears. Serial #172503. Is this a Rocketeer? I didn't buy it at the time and am so afraid it won't be there when I go back. Have a 401A, 185J, FW centennial, Kenmore model 158.14300, Bernina Deco 330 and a plastic Singer (ugh!) Seems I have become a vintage snob. If it is there, what is your opinion on adding this to my babies?
the desk is worth $25

It was sold when I went back. Heartbroken. I'll let you know of any machines I see in the future since you live in Cary. The machine had come from the store manager's home and he has a treadle at home too. I asked him to get make, model and serial number and I would come back in a week to check. I wish he would take a picture of it for me to see too.
