Those are the top two that come to mind for "cheap, good quality"
You won't go wrong with either of these.

But if you're looking for a solid white, the Kona at Joann's (with a coupon) might be the least expensive, since that's a major consideration. That way you can save the $$$ for the pinks/purples.

As for those colors, are you only looking for one fabric for each value, or are you considering multiple fabrics for each value group? So it would be a very controlled scrappy look (like you used in the Ribbon quilt).
I really like Kona from Joannes with a 40% coupon...good deal and good quality fabric.....

Fabric.com has free shipping if you spend 35.00. I don't like to spend $$ on shipping

I agree, Whittles fabrics has great fabric at Walmart prices... I just sent for another order this week!

The shipping is very reasonable and it comes in 2 or 3 days. They are wonderful to work with....

I too am in the " inexpensive mode" I got laid off from the hospital I worked at due to budget constrains after 10 year, and my wife is in breast cancer treatment. SO, if I am going to continue quilting ( making some tops and table runners to sell to suplement the income) I use Fabric.com (free shipping on orders over 35 dollars and it is great quality cotton fabirc and they ALWAYS have great specials. Moda, RJR, Henry Glass, Alexander House and many other fabrics.
    Check it out.

Its worth the search... I needed 5 yards of white (I choose a white on white) and our local Craft Warehouse had a flat fold sell (3 bucks a yard) and I was able to get what I needed for 15 dollars. What a steal!

I go to Joann's and buy shirting fabric. It is a little heavier hand but not too heavy. It holds up well and is a really bright white.
I go during coupon days. I found the quilt shops where I was doing the block of the months were using same fabric and so decided to buy my own and save.

Terrific looking - I wish you well. Still on UFP's this year.

Also, Hancock's of Paducah has some pretty good sales sometimes. I also like whittlesfabrics - good service and good quality. When I shop online, I mostly am looking at sale and clearance fabric and have never been disappointed.

connecting threads.com and Fabrics.com both give free shipping after buying a certain amount. one is $50. the other $35. have ordered from both. good quality, cut a big longer than you order and good prices. I am on limited budget, so I do most of my shopping here and Walmart.
