Fons and Porter has a deal with Connecting Threads thru June 28. 20% off yardage. That makes their $4.96 fabrics only $3.96! Quality is inbetween JoAnn and LQS. After you login and select the fabrics you want, enter TRYITFP in the "code" box on the shopping cart page. Free shipping over $50. I just ordered 15 yards of mixed fabrics from their Mirage basics to use as backings for charity quilts (we make ours from 30"x40" to 42"x52" as a rule). Of course, I stuck in some stuff for me!

That's going to be very pretty. I always shop online. Saves time and better selection.

    Connecting Threads
    Fabric.com
    Thousand of Bolts
They always have great sales $2.50 and up and free shipping after a certain amount 35.00; 50.00, etc.
I shop these three all the time (only on sale) and have never had a complaint.
    Good luck

Is it worth it to search out onlines stores? I worry that I will spend so much time looking that I will get discurraged. I know many of you buy online - but I myself never had.

Any suggestions for "good" quality, low price, cheap shipping? I have to admit - Joanne's is the highest quality I normally go. And I know that you get what you pay for - but I am still only will to do 5-6 dollars per yard. Is it worth my time to research?
I just some WOW at a quilt/fabric shop that was only $5.79 yd...it was a fabric from Maywood studios...

and here is my FAVE online shop...http://www.stitch-n-frame.net

The last time I was in my local Joannes in S. Cal. they didn't carry Kona cotton, my favorite "go to'' fabric for solids and backing.
