Is this a good fabric choice for One Block Wonder?

I saved the following link the other day and this OBW also had a lot of light in it.

i also like Vagabonds quilt. I will watch with interest. I think it's just a neat pattern.

I found an online kalidascoper and was able to get some nice variety by clicking on different areas. http://www130.lunapic.com/editor/?action=kaleidoscope

What if you used black or red as a surrounding block like quilting vagabond did with the gray. Would that make a difference as to the question of too much white? Kind of hard to visualize, I am more hands on.

I think it's perfect for a OBW, but not so much for a kaleidoscope block. I'm not sure of the correct definition of the two terms...OBW and kaleidoscope...to me, they're two totally different patterns. A OBW is the pattern that seems to "bleed" from one color to the next and the kaleidoscope is the pattern shown by QuiltingVagabond.

A good way to check it to take two small mirrors and put them in a v shape and move it around on the fabric, this will show you the variations in the finished blocks. You can purchase mirrors at a qs but any small mirrors would work.

if you can do a kaleidoscope photo on an iPod touch or ipad, you would have a great idea of how it will turn out. I say, go for it because it will be stunning with lots of motion provided by the many curves in the pattern. Post a photo when done

Cedar! Thanks for the Kaleidoscoper link. I'm running to take photos of a couple of fabrics now!!
Oh and I think the fabric would make a very interesting OBW. I wonder what would happen if you added an inch or so of red or black to one edge of the fabric widths before you stacked and cut them. I think the solid colour would then 'outline' or become the center of each kaleidoscope...might be fun to try.
