Hi everyone. I'm looking for good, standard blocks to use to make throw cushion covers for Christmas gifts. I'm thinking two different ones, using the same colors. One could be something that would end up similar to a poinsettia. I want to piece, not applique. Gotta' start now, I usually hand piece.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

(oh, yeah...by standard I mean just a regular block, not a special Christmas one)

A few basic comes to mind--nine patch, pinwheel, 4 patch, drunkards path--All could be done in any color arrangement for any occaision. There are lots of websites that have been mentioned that would give you infinite blocks and/or combinations like "quilterscache"
