It's called Quilt Block Tool. It's a paid app available on Amazon and Google Play. It tells you how many pieces you need to cut for a certain block. Some start at 3" and go to 15". Also divided by grids. 2 grid would be Flying Geese,9 grids - Golden Gate. There's an assembly guide, too.

    Re the Barn Quilts:
Another forum I belong to had a gentleman recreating traditional Quilt block barn patterns in wood. I think he was selling them for outdoor use, but the patterns for most of these blocks are public domain.

There is a calendar of barn patterns dated several years ago. I lost mine in a move and have been looking for one ever since. Anyone have one they would like to send me.

If you look closely, a lot of these are actually traditional blocks. There should be free patterns for most on the net.

    Here's some various patterns.
    http://patternsge.net/folk-art-quilt-patterns/
One of the quilts is close to traditional

I have an app for Android that has most of these and makes 6 - 12 inch blocks.

Another place to find patterns is stained glass. These can be appliqued. I remember having a cross stitch book of them.
The Distelfink, tulip and other like them might be better appliqued. Find a picture and scan it to the size you want, or have a place like Office Depot do it for you.
Please can you tell me the name of your App.
    Thank you

I have an iPhone, and all I did was go to the app store and type in "quilt" (without the quotes) in the search area. It turned up all kinds of quilt apps, many of them free. Hope this helps. :c)

You might try quilterscache to see what they have, as they have lots of free patterns, and there might be something you can use.
