Got in a slump
#12
I am having the same problem, but in my case it is due to letting my day job stress get in the way. Quilting used to be my relaxation and mental getaway from stress, but lately my job has been so stressful that I am too mentally exhausted to do anything else. I was just telling myself I need to get a handle on this, if no other way, by committing to spend at least a few minutes each day quilting. I "long" to get back to it; just can't seem to find the energy.

I'm trying to get my sewing room in order. I find if I leave some pieces of fabric out, I get distracted from whatever project I've decided on and start thinking about what I want to do with the other fabrics laying around. Bottom line, nothing gets done!

This happens to me too. I just started to make quite a few wallhangings as gifts (small accomplishments), then hoping to sew on a quilt I started before Christmas. Enjoy the quilt show, hope you get your inspiration back. :-D :-D

I do the same thing. All my fabric has to be put away or my mind just goes off on its own with a million different things I want to do. What Im working on is the only thing I can have out at a time.

I too am in a slump! Ever since July I would race home and sew, I had so many things to get done by Christmas. Now, I just veg out when I get home from work. I have put some hand sewing by chair, but I haven't touched it. I know that it will only take an hour or so of sewing while watching TV, but I can't seem to get started. HELP!!
A friend and I are going to Road to California this weekend, I am so wishing that it will get me out of my slump. I get so mad at myself for wasting time.
It makes me feel much better to find out that I am not alone.

Yes it happens to me too, but I learned the hard way if I don't feel like sewing, I don't because then I make mistakes. One day all of a sudden I can't wait to sew again. When I'm not in the mood I go to this site and satisfy my quilt addiction
