    Default Grace quilting frame

I have a grace quilting frame I bought back in 2006 and have not been happy with how it works. I stopped using it but have purchase a brother 1300 and want to try again. My problem is with the carriage system. It is the black plastic one an works fine to go back and forth or side to side but when you want to go in circles it is jerky and does not want to move that way. Has anyone else had this problem

You can purchase a metal carriage through the Grace Company. That is what I did.

The upgrade carriage system only fits some of the Grace Frame models. You need to measure the distance between the tracks to see if it will fit. The frame I have will not accomodate the upgrade as the new carriage is longer.
The only thing I can suggest is to make sure that your wheels are clean. If there is any buildup of lint on the rollers it makes for a bumpy ride. Also use a level to check and see if it is indeed sitting level on the floor as well sitting in a straight line, in other words that there is not a "bow" where the two sections connect.
    Hope this helps )

I just remembered one more thing; check your rails. If they are plastic, they may have a break or a tear in them. I had to replace the ones on the carriage and if I remember correctly it was making the thing run bumpy.
