How wonderful to have such a cute little button and with photos to show the progress of her quilting efforts!!! Maybe if she's set on giving her first quilt away to her 2nd grade teacher, burn a copy of the photos to include with the quilt as a memory of the hard work she put into making this special quilt for the teacher. I'm sure the teacher would appreciate the photos showing the steps your granddaughter went through to make and complete the teacher's quilt. She did such a terrific job!!!

How wonderful. I wanted to share that I have a GD named Madelynn. We thought that 2 n's was unusual but guess not. Her Mom and Dad wanted to make sure it was prounounced lynn not line. But she does have an e after the d.

You will never regret teaching her everything she can learn about a home. we will more than likely go back to the fact, that we are going to be warm, only by a bunch of quilts on the bed.My 16 year old granddaughter finished her first quilt this past winter, you have me beat.Congratulations!

The quilt is almost as pretty as your granddaughter! She did a beautiful job. I'm working on interesting my 14 year old DGD in quilting but we don't have a lot of opportunities to get together so it's slow going. I have another DGD (11 years old) who wants to be a dress designer and isn't interested in quilting. My other two DGDs are 3 and 6 months.

That's one way to make sure quilters will continue. Madalynn is adorable and I loved her facial expressions. You must be very proud of her and her accomplishment. I have been sewing since I was 9 years old, making my own clothes, quilting for the last 25+ years and find quilting to be my "sanity". Unfortunately, the quilting bug did not rub off on my daughter - except shortly before going off to college. She got chicken pox and mono her Sr. year, so she had to stay home from school. She decided she wanted to make a quilt "but not like the ones I made", she wanted just squares and everyone different. I helped her sew it together and finished quilting it one week after she started college. I never told her that she had two identical pieces, but she'll probably never find it. Keep up the good work with Madalynn.
