I just coordinate each flower...So mine is definitely going to be "scrappy". I am sashing with white hexies.... So far I am about 2/3rd's done with the flowers. My goal is to finish it by the end of the year!

Mine has all the same yellow centers and coordinating flowers. I selected a fabric line that was available in 2 & 1/2" strips so the decision was made for the yellow and the green path. Flowers use the coordinating fabrics, but none are identical.

Noticed that your avatar had diamonds separating the flowers....is that hard?

Let's say no, for now. Haven't pieced the diamonds yet, just flowers.

Here is the one I'm making.
Each flower has the same yellow center and each leaf is the same green fabric.
I have about 18 blocks and each block has one flower combo.
    Each block has different combos.

    One block

Kas, sorry for sounding foolish, but what do you mean by the constant? I understand you have triangles in your pattern. I would really like to see your pattern. I am doing one with a row of diamonds & triangles around every flower. >>

I just started mine, well, a few weeks ago. But things came up and I haven't worked on mine much, I finished my third flower tonight. Each of the main flowers will have a center, with 2 rows of petals, then a row of green for leaves with white paths. As I didn't like the traditional pattern, I don't get the white rings around each flower with green in the middle, I designed my own layout.

My GFG will be queen sized, but each of my hexs are 1 3/4 inches(along 1 side b/c I believe that's how you measure them)

my layout, the colors of the flowers is not true, I just wanted some color for my flowers, and you can ignore the writing on the side, that's for my reference

my 3 completed flower petals. I need to add my green which is gonna be scrappy or I wouldn't be able to afford a queen sized quilt!

Very pretty, SarahRachel. Your quilt will be so nice. Glad to hear other people are still interested in GMFG. I am still working on mine too. I didn't work on it for a few weeks, cuz my brother passed away, & then my sister ended up in the hospital, & she has lost almost all her sight. She just about completed a GMFG quilt since Christmas. So this is very hard on her.
