    Default Great thrift store find

We went to New Orleans to visit family for the holidays and yesterday as I was driving home (in the pouring rain all the way) I was getting sleepy so I stopped at a Salvation Army store to get out of the car and stretch and wake up. I found an older Kenmore machine in fantastic condition for 25.oo, and approx. 30 yds of cotton fabrics for 10.00. The best find I have had in a long time. My niece wants to learn to sew, I plan to get the machine all checked out and oiled and then gift it to her. The fabric will be a nice boost to my stash.

Good for you! Great find! And my friends wonder why I frequent the thrift stores so frequently. I've gotten some of my best stuff there. Even found an old White sewing machine with cabinet for $20. It was working so I thought it was worth it, and it is. It's at the repair shop now, and they say that a bit of cleaning, oiling, and fixing where the pedal cord has frayed, and I'll have a new machine!
