Great time today

Every two weeks at least two other quilters, sometimes three, and I get together to quilt - on whatever projects we want to... it's so much fun. Do any of you do this? Today I worked on some more bags to sell.

I love to do that too. It's really energizing, and I get so much done!
We recently got a few together here in our homes for casual sewing evenings, for different sorts of handwork, not all sewing nor quilting.
But somehow some of the gals who were also quilt quild members moved the group towards being a "bee" under the local quild.
Suddenly there were rules and structure, that some of the ladies did not care for, even changed the meeting place to a local community center, so the group broke up.
I do think after a while we might try again. I hope so.

Believe it or not I do not know one single soul that sews, much less quilts! Well at least that live around me, I know of ONE that lives 400 miles away!
Thank goodness my kids can sleep through anything, cause I would be "alone" without the radio blaring over the sewing machine! lol

we have up to 5 quilters that meet in a church room. Before I joined they were with a large group. but they did not like the cattiness and better than thou personalities. They never felt wanted there. I was the last to join our group. my neighbor and i go together and our husbands go out for breakfast on that day. We really have a great time and a whole lot of laughs.

My mother-in-law does some sewing and has a sewing group at the church - but I've never been. I'm one of those socially challenged folks that would probably feel very awkward in a group sewing thing. But I know if I could get over that awkwardness, I'd love it!
