Default Grids for your "homemade" templates Rulers.. DO Bother

I was just reading the thread "don't bother to make your own" I see many of us do and lots were bothered by no markings Rhonda shared with me she uses
Wright's EZ template plastic with grid the sheets are 8 1/2" x 11". you get 4 grid sheets and 2 clear sheets you can google it and find them different prices i bought mine on eBay for less then put them on with double side sticky tape
it is much cheaper than buying ready made
you can have the plexi glass cut at your local glass store if you don't have a way to do it yourself or lucky enough to have a DH to cut them

Yes, I am one of the lucky ones who can get DH to cut templates, and specialty rulers for me. No big deal if it costs me a nice dinner ;-)

You guys are lucky. Don't have a handy hubby around to cut it for me and neither Lowes nor Home Depot in my area will cut it.

most window glass or auto glass repair shops will cut them for you my guy charges me $4.00 a square foot which I think is really reasonable when 1 template can cost $20.00 up

If you're just looking for a way to mark lines on a 'custom' acrylic ruler, the easiest way is to print whatever grid/lines/pattern you want onto an Avery clear full sheet label (#18665).

All kinds of downloadable grids, etc. here (there are lots of other sites, as well). http://incompetech.com/graphpaper/ You can even print inches in one color, half inches in another and quarter inches in a third if you want. Different thicknesses of lines, too.

The labels are much thinner than template plastic and are self-adhesive so no tape is needed and the edges won't snag on things.

Yes I use Wright's and I always buy at Create for less. It is the cheapest I have found online. I have watched ebay but never found any on there. I just use an Elmer's glue stick to put mine on the acrylic template. My assistant does these by 3 to 5 dozen of each size at a time and it works well for us.

There is a cheaper site that I have used but you have to wait a month to get them and you have to buy in bulk. Unless you spend over $150 and then they will send them in a week. Otherwise they wait til they have enough to place a bulk order. I was not real happy with them. I had some stuff that they backordered and they never told me I wasn't getting it til I contacted them. I just stay with Createforless. I have had good service with them.

I can get any size template special ordered by my friend who cuts mine. but it is a waiting game sometimes on his getting them done. He is retired but they keep very busy.
