Hello all, I have a gripe about quilt sites that go dormant. For instance, Quilters Buzz by Gina Halliday hasn't had a posting since October. Not even a note that they'll be back. Does anyone know what's been going on with her?
Same thing with Simple Arts by Annie (Smith?). She's back now, but was gone for months and months without even a note.
If one has a site and then decides not to do it anymore, does it stay forever on the internet or can it be "deleted.?

OK, now my gripe about this board is that it moves way too fast.! I log on in the mornings and ususally there are already about 3 to 5 pages of responses to some postings that were posted that morning.
But I love this board--it's fun to have a place to go to every morning to chat about quilting. . .

    Ouch! That hurt.
I agree that internet sites that have been abandoned are annoying, there should be a way to just delete them.
As for this board, I love it that it moves fast. It fits my attention sp......squirrel!

This is the only quilt site I go to. I can't keep up with this one, much less checking on any more. OMG. I'd never get off the computer! I looked at a couple of others, but I didn't think they were nearly as user friendly, so I just stick around here, WAY too much.(O:

You probably can delete an abandoned site - if it's yours - and if you care to take the time to do so.

But... since a lot of sites have ads on them, and the site owner can earn a bit of revenue when people click on those ads, there's actually an incentive to just leave the site up and running, abandoned or not.

I used to have a website (not quilting)....when I decided to not renew my site for another year, I cancelled and didn't pay. It took them about 6 months to take it off the internet. That may be what happened.

HaHa! Me too! I even dragged my husband to see it..he thought it was "very cute"..which is saying alot..=)

there is way more stuff that I find on blogs and sites than I can EVER finish..or start even. I CAN on the other hand Dream ALL I want. I have so much saved on my computer that I think I will crash it at times...not to mention all the Embroidery stuff I have. Its INSANE! But I absolutely Love it! I am very thankful to have found this site...I feel like I've found MY people. =) as for the ones that go away.....my brain half the time doesn't even notice...I wish I could be more organized about that stuff but I'm almost to the point of realizing it will never happen. As long as there is so much creativity on the internet...I'm happy.
