    Loved the typo!

I have no suggestions other than: be sure you let them know how many hours it took to make the quilt and the cost if you sold it...could be called a "guilt trip"! don't be surprized if you are asked to do another "volunteer" quilt next year. :) :) :)

    good luck.

There have been several threads about this in the past. In one case the charity was miffed that the quilter required them to raffle her donation rather than place it in the silent auction -- until it raised more money than all of the silent auction entries combined!

Of course, a raffle has to be legal in their state, so that has to be checked out.
To get away from the problems with having an "auction quilt" we call ours "opportunity quilts" and haven't had any more problems! :o)

What did you decide to do?

I would just stitch it onto the back as a label, but that's me.

I'm sorry that this happened to you, it must be so aggravating after all the work you've already put into the quilt. But I think we all need to remember the reason for this quilt is to raise money for the kids with such an awful disease. I hope that you can get over the frustration that you're feeling and pour some extra love into the quilt while you're adding the forgotten t-shirt. No one did this intentionally, but they want the quilt to be extra special to help raise money for these courageous kids. I'm sure you'll be able to do that! I think you'll be glad you took the time to do it right instead of doing something to just "get by." What an awesome person you are to help out!!! I hope this doesn't turn out to be a bad memory for you but one that you'll be able to look back on and cherish because of the service you gave! Please show us pictures when you're done! Hugs to you! :o)

I agreed, I would cut a square and machine applique the new one on top. I would look perfect! and what do they know!

Have you thought about putting the shirt in the center of the backing, maybe with a framing border to make it stand out?

I agree with the pillowcase to match or wall hanging crowd!

Seriously, your idea of trimming out one shirt and replacing it with the "must have in" shirt sounds good. Good luck with whatever you decide!!
Me, too. I imagine that was what she was thinking.
