I am keeping my eyes open of older irons. I too, feel that the newer irons just do not get hot enough and one unintended trip to the floor seems to make them start leaking. I wonder if the heat issue is because there are more polycotton and mixed fabrics in use today.

Great score!!!!!! I just really wish I could find a really good iron that would last 20 years like my last one did ..LOL
