Well I never said any man that quilts is gay...I know alot of men who quilt and knit and non of them are gay...or most of them are not anyway...there is a man I know from a quilt shop...his wife was a avid quilter and he was an engineer..she was always asking him to figure things out for her..so finally he decided to start quilting with her...they did that for years...she died from cancer a few years ago and he didn't have to heart to quilt without her for a couple years..but now he is back at it and does some amazing work..when he travels he prearranges to make it to quilt classes where he is going to learn new techniques..he can show off any woman I ever met..then there are a couple men in the same town...they have never used a rotary cutter or sewing machine...they are in their 60's..both of them were taught to sew as young boys and never had sewing machines...they figured if they didn't need it then they don't need it now...they do amazing work..the one man has macular degentration now so he is sending his quilts to a longarmer to have them quilted as he just can't see to do that anymore...I think men can out quilt any woman...and yes I am a woman...but they usually think with the engineering side of the brain moreso than most woman..not all but most....blessings

I think there are several of us in Northern Colorado. I know there are several quilt shops in the area. I haven't been to all of them yet.

Its okay everything will be alright......

I am a guy and I am far from gay but have gay friends and I love to quilt also. This is a unisex hobby and we all enjoy it for various reasons and for me I find I can use my artistic side while being able to use my vintage machines for something other than a dust collection device.

And trust me I am the most manly man you have seen. Just go out in my garage and its laden with testosterone with Hot Rods and Snap-On tool boxes full of tools everywhere you see!

Just because you quilt does not make you gay but its fun to keep them guessing :mrgreen:

Holy Cow Dude. :) Settle down there......I personally find it quite sexy that men quilt ... and usually the men's quilts are a heck of a lot better than most women's stuff I see. Men's brains operate in a different way, and you guys look at things differently, thus you express them differently. It's a sad fact that sometimes men aren't given their due when it comes to quilting, sewing, whatever........... if a woman could be president then hell a man can sew up a storm.

Old man -New quilter,
I belong to the Austin area quilt guild(AAQG) and there are about 20 men in our guild, the majority aren't gay. They make wonderful quilts, its great to see quilting done from another angle that I would never think of.
Mr.C. and his wife own a long arm quilting business, his quilts are lovely! He does most of the quilting for their customers; most of the quilting is done free hand.

Depending on how I come home will say if I hit Texas or not, I might be sliding through Colorado one more time on my way home if that is the case then I will not be going through there.
