ICkY,,,, I tried it at a sewing retreat and was glad that I had not bought one...it is very awkward and caused my hips to hurt!

not like the ball at all...I use a ball chair and that cushion was nothing like this...I think their original concept was to replicate that, but it makes you feel like you are going to fall off...It also makes you sit higher than normal so if you can not adjust your chair height, your sewing machine will no longer at the correct height for your neck and shoulders!

No, I mean in the way of "creating" instability and causing your muscles to work more. They don't feel anything alike to me either.

FWIW, I used to sit on my yoga ball 100% of the time when I was on the computer. Started because I would "bounce" my son to sleep. After that was no longer necessary I started slacking off. My belly totally shows it. and

I bought one a while ago. Never did get used to it.Always felt like I was sitting "side saddle" and, when I tried to change that position , I'd over compensate and I'd slide off !! Ended up taking it back.

I tried one a a quilt class one day, can't say it really did anything for me. But several ladies there swear they're fantastic.

My quilt shop has them for sale, and I sat on one there. It was interesting. I couldn't decide if I liked it or not. When you are sitting on it, it feels almost like you are on water or something. The thing itself doesn't move, but I still felt like I was going to fall. I think the air inside does it. If you bend forward or shift the air "moves". I didn't buy it.
