Here's what i would do...Finish it so that you have something finished for the date needed. Start a 2nd choice quilt and go as far as you can with it. Wrap them up together and give her a choice. Be sure she knows she can only have one. If she chooses the 2nd choice quilt you get the #1 quilt in blues for yourself!

Sounds like a deal...only, I am going to start quilting a practice piece. Then the real quilting will begin!

Wow, I just today got Eleanor Burns book to make this. Now I can't wait. That is absolutely gorgeous. If she doesn't like it, send it to Illinois.

You will find that it goes together so nicely...just measure and trim up the blocks after each round. Oh, there is also a video on her website that shows a quick tutorial of how to do it.

Thanks for the encouragement! You are right, she is such a sweetheart (really! Like one of my own kids!) She was just so excited about a beach tote I made her last year, that I know that she will appreciate this one too, just needed some encouragement.

Oh, I can show you the pics when it was about 2/3 of the way pieced, before the borders. Will post the finished top, probably tomorrow. Thanks for the interest. (Colors are richer than they appear in pic...camera seems to wash things out. Pardon my messy room...everything has been taking a back seat since I have been working on this  )
If she doesn't like it send it this way. I don't like blue, but this is beautiful.

When in doubt, listen to your mind (my grandmother's mantra). Mine is "don't overthink it."
