I have been getting email alerts from Hancocks of Paducah (cause I probably signed up at some point) and always assumed they were the parent company of my local Hancocks stores... But H of P advertises the name brand quilting lines, and with the big prices, too. Our local Hancocks only carries the more generic lines, like Absolutely Cotton. So, are they completely seperate companies who coincidentally share the same name, or are they affiliated?

    Just wondering...

Yes they are totally different. The Hancock's in Paducah has probably 4 times the selection that your local Hancock's has & probably different lines of fabric too. We asked this one yr when we were at the qult show in Paducah

Hancocks of Paducah is HUGE! It's like a Wal-mart sized store full of fabric.

They are not the same company. Hancock Fabrics is a craft/fabric chain store like JoAnns.

Hancocks-Paducah is a mail order company and has a store in Paducah. They are not a chain store. Hancocks-Paducah only carries top quality quilting cottons.

From what I know the Hancock's parted ways a long time ago. One kept the store in Paducah and the other went the chain store way.
