    Default Hand embroidered quilt labels?

    Hi,
Looking for ideas and suggestions on hand embroidering labels for quilts. I have one I want to make soon for a baby/toddler quilt.
    Thanks for your ideas,

I've always made my own by printing out what I want the label to say (in my preferred font) on white paper and then tracing the wording onto the lightest fabric from the quilt with water or air soluble marker. I can then embroider over my traced wording without it getting too wonky...The same would of course be possible with any images you wanted to include. This way you can make your label as complicated or as simple as you want.

(I don't have a light box so I tape my paper to a window, then my fabric over it, and trace away.)

I've made labels by putting an index card under the fabric to make sure I'm writing straight. Having no depth perception it's hard for me to judge otherwise. I use pins to hold both so the fabric doesn't move.
