Hand Piecing?
I just acquired a book/DVD Quilted Diamonds 2 by Linda Franz. Her instructions for hand piecing are quite interesting, and I think after I finish the projects I working on I may try one block. Has anyone here done the diamond blocks from this book/instructor?

The only quilter that is active with hand piecing that I know of is Jinny Beyer:

Linda Franz is the inventor of inklingo......a method of printing patterns onto fabric via printer .......anyway, she also had authored several books, this being one of them. I don't know what beyers method is, nor do I know if franz's is different.....she uses freezer paper as templates....and I'm guessing this book was prior to her print on fabric method...just wonder if anyone here has book/DVD...she also has a cd connecting to EQ for this method, and if anyone here has or is doing......I'll just do a block----actually diamond----and see.

I have made dozens of diamonds over the years, most from the first Quilted Diamonds book. I've yet to settle on how I want to make the whole quilt (from book 1) but I made samples to help me see how fabrics work with such small pieces. The one thing I've taken away from working on the diamonds, using freezer paper templates, is my hand piecing ability improved, significantly. It has to if you're working on such small pieces.
