Handquilting in the car
#73
I tried to applique while riding and the stitches looked awful. I had to take them out so now I take quilt magazines along to ponder.

I take my handquilting and enjoy the ride. Anyone else love to quilt and ride?

i'm a reader. best vacation ever involved a valise of books, and that annual trek out to new york/pa. hubby: "aren't you going to look at the scenery???" me: "it hasn't changed in the last 26 years. i'm on vacation. let me read." we were gone 2 weeks, and i polished off 26 books. loved every minute of it! i hadn't discovered the joys of quilting, then--only counted cross stitch and crochet. it would be a different drive, now!

I always carry a bag of things to do when we travel. A good book, various stitching projects. DH loves to drive, & wants to do all the driving, so I have to find things to keep me busy otherwise, or I would soon go crazy & be bored to death! We drove from here in NC, out to CA, then back, last year, camping along the way, & thank goodness I had handwork to keep me busy & sane!.... I would never leave home for a trip, without it!
