I just came from the JoAnn's Fabric store by us. They are liquidating and moving to a larger building that will be even CLOSER to me. They have bolts now marked down to 75% and 90% off. I bought 24 yards of beautiful fabric for $53.00. Wow!!! It's all going in the wash machine right now. Wish all of you could run over there right now!

Quilting Cat if you need fabric for charity quilts, you need to spread the word. There are probably people cleaning out estates, at your local quilt guild, quilting church group or senior's centre who would happily "gift" you with fabric. I was chair of Community Quilts for my guild for several years and once my name was out there, I've been getting fabric donations ever since. I just keep passing it all on to our current chair. I've even been given sewing machines, thread and batting. There are lots of people who would gladly share fabric with you for charity quilts. Get asking and spread the word through family, friends, and neighbours.

about 5 years ago, we had 2 JoAnns close and move into larger buildings and I bought all the fabric I could afford and then some!! I knew I would never ever find sales like those again....and I haven't!! I can shop my stash for years and never use it all......but I do find happiness adding a FQ or two, now and then!!
also bought a ton of fabric when Walmart closed out their fabric deptments.....good stuff there too.......if you look close!!

oh darn. Our trip is planned for the first of August to St. Louis. I'm sure there won't be much left when I get there. Could have moved the trip up a couple weeks if I had known there was going to be such a good deal on fabric. Have fun sewing now you have the fabric!
