I too have to say they are good blades. I bought some brand name from a local store, they were dull when I got them, the HF felt like cutting thru butter. I am very hard on blades as I tend to press to hard guess that is it. I am not sure. Anyway they have done a spot of cutting and still very sharp. You must have gotten a bad batch and it sounds like your experience was a bad one. Sorry.

Another couple of women have mentioned that they were very impressed as to how long the blades have lasted. They had had no skipping problems at all.
Watch that new fingernail cutter you have there. Might put the manicurists outta business. :wink:

PS, Don't forget to look for blades after October 1st. When I asked about freight day they mentioned Monday for most stores. Also if you get a raincheck it not only holds the price for you, but you get first crack of anything that comes in over the product that goes on the rack. They will fill orders first.

i have just returned from HF - and found only 1 set of blades. A new girl at the register looked up the number and said they had 70 in stock. she called the Stock room and asked them to bring #........... to the front. When the stock man arrived, he had one carpet cutter. He told her she had used the wrong number. It designates the item it is used with on the card. He said there were no blades in stock!
So, next week I will try again. I now have 4 pkg I can pass along to someone who need blades.

I was wondering if the rotary cutter made a difference. I am using my Olfa cutter, I was wondering if the Fiskars would be better. Unfortunately, with moving my sewing room back and forth about 4 times this year, I have misplaced them. I am sure they are just in an unpacked box.
I hope the blades start to work well as I would love not paying the high cost of the "name" brand blades.
I will continue to watch this listing to see what others are saying.
As for bad luck, that may be true. I am having a run of bad luck the last few days, including loosing my kids ring to me for Mother's Days which I had for years. It had they birth stones and they names inscribed. I have been looking like crazy for it. But it could be anywhere. Including at a picnic I went to over the weekend or in our pool as we closed it yesterday.
Hope everyone else has good luck with the blades. I bought some for my friend so will see how she does.

I went to Harbor Freight in Texarkana Tx today and bought 10 packages of blades @ 1.49 each. I looked for the small suction handle thing but they didnt have it. Also, Hancocks has a big sale on. I got spools of hand quilting thread for $1.31 each----bought a bunch!!

I am an uneducated newbie. I saw the thread about the Harbor Freight blades a week or 2 ago and at that point had not had to buy blades. I was at our local fabric store Tuesday for thread (since there is no fabric dept at Walmart there is nowhere else in town to buy supplies) I also needed blades and thought, how much could they really be. I was talking to the machine technician instead of paying attention to what I was doing. I handed the clerk a pack of 5 blades for the 45mm cutter. I was in shock as my mouth dropped and I hesitantly handed over my debit card. When I got out of the store I looked at the receipt, $35 and change for a pack of 5 blades -- YIKES!!
