Default Harriet Hargrave Boot Camp at LQS

My LQS is running a class using Harriet Hargrave's freshman academy book. It will be 4 four- hour classes. Has anyone used this book to make a quilt? We are making the quilt on the back cover. I am looking for ideas for fabric choice. I have been making quilts for a few years but have signed up for this class because I need to learn better habits.
What are your impressions of this series?

While I haven't done this, I have had classes with HH and greatly loved and learned from them.

I love her books!! She has 4 in the Quilter's Academy series - which book are you using? (Sorry, I see you are using the Freshman book) That book is wonderful!! Book # 5 is due out in 6 to 12 months. These books contain a wealth of information. I highly recommend them for all quilters - beginner to expert!

Her classes were some of the most informant classes I ever attended. Most everything I learned about machine quilting was from her. I am glad to hear she is still actively involved in quilting. So many women I have know in the quilting business have passed away. You will learn a lot from her. Have fun and ENJOY!!!

Yes - I've made most of the quilt tops in the book. I don't recall which one is featured on the back - is it Asian Nights? That one is an excellent quilt for learning precision piecing. I'm using the series to teach myself piecing and using Heirloom Machine Quilting to teach myself free motion quilting.

I took an Invisible Machine Applique class from Harriet last spring. She is delightful in person and a great teacher.

    Cheers, K

Thank you all! Actually, Harriet is NOT the instructor. It's just at mt LQS by a local person using the first book. The quilt is called Carrie's Interlacing Circles..

Which LQS? I'm in Metrowest. Would love to take one of her classes.
