And if you did, what did you make and did you like doing it? Was it hard to do? Watched a demonstration last week and wondered. Thanks.

I took a class a few years ago but I've never made anything. It isn't difficult, just wasn't my cup of tea, I guess.

It looks like something a person could pick up and do, when the pains of quilting get to be too much. It is a little break or will be if I start one.

Here is the book we bought for the class--
    http://www.amazon.com/Kathleens-Fabr...7640102&sr=1-2

And the hook you need to do it with --

It really is simple. You could easily figure it out from the book, but the class was still fun.

To start off I would make a hot pad size square, it is just something to learn on. It looks easy for sure. But as with anything looking easy and being easy are two different things.

Wouldn't it be difficult to maneuver larger pieces of the grid? It seems so stiff and uncooperative.

Not really. The canvas/grid only comes in one or two sizes (I can't remember). And it's stiff at first but it softens a bit as you handle it during the process.
I can't remember how the pieces are put together to make one large finished piece. Sorry.
