Sorry, hate to be the only negative person here. I have them in all the sizes, joined a buck a block group and one thangles were required. It was my first experience with them and I was not happy. When I made the HST with a stripe fabric, the stripes were going in the wrong direction on half of them. The same thing might happen with a plaid fabric. But I had to use them and those blocks still are not my favorite. If they had provided a wider piece of fabric I would have done them 'my way'. I just feel that I can make HST's much faster by sewing 1/4 inch on each side of the center. I have a piece of tape on my machine to follow and never have a problem with them. The other reason I did not like them is that they are too much like paper piecing and that is the least of my favorite things to do. The points might be perfect but I hate tearing that paper off the backs of them.
By all means give thangles a try and decide if it's what you like.

I just love it when you proper English ladies talk Western! The tip-off is "Have you"--What you SHOULD have said is "Ain't you got one of them there thangle quilts to show us?" Bwwaaaahaaahaaaa!

I have tons of them. I purchased a whole set while at a quilt show and the only ones I've used are the 2.5 and 4 inch. But not many. There was a thread on here a few weeks ago from a lady that needed them for a project and couldn't afford to buy them. I offered to send her what she needed but never got a response from her. I have a pattern of a hunters star quilt that uses them, but am very hesitant to start it after this last ordeal. I believe the pattern is called Orien Star.

I think I'd rather keep them in case another project comes up rather than be sorry and short. Just in case. I just know I won't be using stripes or plaids from now on. When the time comes to clean out my sewing room I'll let everyone know. No offense I hope.

I've made lots of quilts using them and love them. It's sort of like paper piecing but ALOT easier hahahaa...

I was able to print off all but the 2-1/2, not sure what the problem is, it just says "page can not print" My sister bought my mom several sizes and I've "borrowed" a few, these are more in my price range!
