I agree - I'd ditch the sleeve... I don't see me carrying around a quilt unless you are planning on giving it to someone as a baby present - then they can carry the baby's play on quilt when they go out ya know?

But if it were being made for a grown up I'd have to ditch the sleeve - unless they live where it rains all the time - love the idea of the umbrella :)

I looked at the pattern and let out a scream (at almost midnight). It's Moda's "Verna" fabric line. Nobody ever names anything Verna. Several quilting friends advised me it's coming out but I haven't seen it yet. Thank you Moda!!!!

Lucky you, Verna!!! I can't see Moda naming anything "Janice".

It would make a nice picnic bag too...quilt to sit on, lunch in the bag... :)

Yep, the sleeve is to stow the quilt at the bottom of the bag. Awesome idea, would be great for picnics, or an outing at the park with the kids. Thanks for the link!!

I think it is REALLY cute! It would be good to carry your quilt to a class or bee to work on the hand quilting or sew on binding while you are there or wherever! Thanks for posting...I saved the pattern!
