I bought an $$$ camera bag on Etsy about a year ago for dslr.....it was not all it was made out to be and my lens got busted in it. I have a new (refurbished) lens coming and I'm thinking about making my own. I'd like to make a pocketbook/camera bag all in one. I use the camera more if I always have it with me! What would you use for padding? I like my bowtucks bag and am thinking of modifying that design. I just need the camera section to be well padded.

I have one bookmarked that I would like to make after the holidays. It is her Nov 27, 2010 post which right now is on the main page. She has a very nice tutorial posted.

I made one about two years ago from this blog:

I didn't buttonhole mine 'cause I'm a total chicken, used a pretty button and a hair-elastic loop instead. The elastic is wearing out but the case has been everywhere and much abused. Camera is still intact!

Good question, glad you brought this up. My DD has been wanting me to make one for her ever since she saw my first bow tuck bag. So, I bookmarked this thread for future reference.

I bought a specialty camera bag at my local camera store. I wouldn't want to risk my $$$ camera and lens on a homemade one.
