me too. I cut the tissue paper/craft paper/gift paper whatever you wanna call it into strips and feed them through as I sew. I use to make tote bags with picture windows in them! The paper is a lot cheaper than buying a special foot.

I've made several tool box covers for dh out of material that is similar to grill covers. Use heavy thread and a heavy duty needle. With a small piece it should feed through easily but the problem I've always had working with big pieces is feeding it through.

I use the roller foot and a little longer stitch, no problems.

That's not something I've tried. Let us know how it works.

Vinyl can be a bit fussy when it comes to seams becouse of the thickness of the layers. Use a long stitch as short stitches can bind up. You can also use velum as it is thinner then vinyl.

Love silicon spray just be careful not to spray it near any floor that might be slick (my robotics team only made that mistake once, remember the Charmin commercial with the dog sliding into cabinets? Think people. Stuff didn't come off those floors for weeks. We learned to walk very carefully around the lab space for a while.) Teflon feet are good. If you don't want to spend the money, maybe try testing some tissue paper between the foot and the vinyl. I found roller feet left marks depending on the thickness of the vinyl I tried to use.

This reminds me, I've got a bunch of the stuff in the closet somewhere that needs a project. Darn it, now I have to go play.
