I joined a group to get together to do the blocks from Sylvia's Wedding Sampler (featured in the novels)..Boy am I having a difficult time. I am ready to give up. Others in the group are experienced quilters and so I hesitate to ask sooo many questions. The foundation pieced blocks are ok to do but I am finding the others are VERY DIFFICULT to do. Not sure if it is due to the size (6") or am I just too dumb to get it......I am just about ready to give up......HELP!!!!

Are you able to connect with one or two of the quilters there who could be your mentor?
Who do you get along with so far? Ask them if they'd be willing to help you off to the side or after the get together.

I have the book, but have only made one of the blocks. Quilters are usually glad to share their experience with others. I encourage you to go ahead and ask all your questions. Bet you get some great answers and advice. I learn new things everytime someone else asks a question.

I did make a few blocks. Made a baby blanky from it.
Maybe I will make another complete one later but for now I'm totally done with the SBS.
You can see the little SBS blanket here.

I have that one on my list. If you have EQ, you are in luck as you can make pp patterns out of most of the blocks. ...or if you have block Base, you can go search for the name of the block and print out a pp or a rotary cutting instruction.

I know of a group of ladies doing the SBS blocks, and the group is on the Connecting Threads site. Sign up as a member, and you can join. It is free. The ladies there are very helpful, and no question is silly. Please do see what you can find.
I did not join the group, but I do have the book. I'd be glad to try to help if I can! :)
