Use it all the time for stained glass and love it. Buy it at JoAnn's with %50 off. Also have the little clover iron and find it helps very much.

I iron my tape down and then either sew with a twin needle or if using s regular one, sew both sides. Depends on how detailed the design is.

Love the Iron On bias tape ...but it is very pricey! If going to JoAnns use a coupon. The Metallic iron on is now over 18.99 per roll. And I heard they are increasing the price !
FYI it still needs to be sewn on. The fusing is just to hold it in place till you sew. I use the clover mini iron, for really curvy pieces... it really is great for tight curves... saves on finger burns!

The timing on this post is amazing. Yesterday I made my own 1/4" bias tape for a stained glass project I'm working on. I used glue to attach it temporarily (it will be sewn down) but I must say some of the edges are creeping out ... will have to replace those before I finalize the project. Maybe somebody has hints on how to put stronger creases in home-made bias tape (I used the little gadget to make it) so that it doesn't unfold while being applied.

Thanks for this topic. I've been wanting to do a stained glass piece and have the bias tape. Think I'll tackle it now.

Yes, look at my ativar. It is a stain glass look with lots and lots of Clover bias tape. I bought it. would have hated to make that much. here is a larger picture.

I loved using it. However the little iron I had was too hot. So, I redid part of it. I suggest you get a little iron with temperature settings on it ... not just on and off.

I just bought my first batch of the iron on bias tape. I visited a shop in Cortland, Oh owned by Cindy Zlotnik Oravecz. She has a beautiful book out with some ideas for applique with the tape. She also has a website that she has it listed on. I bought some verigated in greens and some multi colored and will start my first project tomorrow. She suggested that I use a very fine webbed fusable backing for my applique, then iron on the tape. My last step would be to use a twin needle to sew it down. Her work is wonderful and I suggest you take a minute and look it up @ www.quiltersfancy.com. Good luck using it and let us know what you think.

I make my own tape and use the little iron-I think it is the one by Clover? it has the little triangle shaped iron part. anyway, it saves my fingers!

I used it on a Celtic heart and all went pretty good but it would have been better had the heart been larger.......the turning was a little difficult.

other than that, I think I would use it again.......
