I just heard of 'Legacy' batting. It's a new name to me. It is 100% cotton and comes in different width sizes. Has anyone used this and what are your opinions about it?

I've used the Legacy Bamboo/Cotton blend and the 80/20 Cotton/Polyester blend. Both are great for hand quilting. They do not beard, but the bamboo is a little fuzzy - but you can brush of the fibres from the fabric, no problem at all. The 80/20 is very soft and cuddly and the quilt drapes wonderfully.
I will try the cotton brand and the soy/cotton blend as well, I already have small pieces of it here. Both seems to be wonderful - very soft and nice to touch. It seems to be an very good brand of batting.
