Red face Has anyone visited Marshall Dry Goods

I have purchased from them online for quite a while now, but have never physically visited the retail/outlet store in Batesville, AR. Has anyone visited and will it be worth my 8 hr drive... Thanks in advance for info.

I visited the store a couple of years ago. We were on our way back from OKC and took the side trip to Batesville. It's not exactly on the way from OK to Wisconsin. We even spent the night there! Unless you are a speed shopper, allow plenty of time to look around the store. I bought quite a bit of novelty fabric for pillowcases for family members. Also, a lot of neutrals and wide quilt backs. I never even went into the section with the fabric on bolts, because I don't usually buy that much of one fabric. But it would have been interesting to look through. But I felt that I had pushed my DH to the limit. He did get into the swing of it and bring my attention to some fabrics. I'd say that we probably spent 6 hours in the store over 2 days. The clerks there are some of the friendliest I've ever worked with.

Only you know what you expect from the trip, but I'd do it again in a minute.

I live about 2 hours away and go there all the time. I love it. Every fabric brand there except Moda. There are shop owners from nearby states stocking up. You can buy whole bolts at a discount price per yard in the back of the warehouse or by the yard in the front for a little more per yard. Lots of sale tables too. The backing quilt fabric is worth the trip.
