There are Bloc-Loc rulers for lots of different things. They even have one for the Drunkards Path block. Really cool tools!

Ingenious idea! I purchased and started using the clear self adhesive rubber feet that I needed to replace missing feet on the bottom of my glass cutting board. They are thin enough I thought to put on my rulers. Works very well. I bought them locally but they can be bought online. Here is one sourse:

I have thoroughly searched the Loc Bloc ruler sight to see what all they offer. They have an item listed as Strip Ruler I believe but no photo just a size of I think 7 inches by 10 inches. I sent an email asking if there are any images of this product of if they can explain it but they didn't respond. I am having the wobble effect as well on some strip sets I am trimming (3 strips sewn together). I don't like it when the ruler is "sticky" because then it is too hard to move it around to position it just right so I don't like the dots or sandpaper holes.

I live just outside Greenwood, AR and am lucky to have two quilt stores close, Mama's Log House and Crooked Creek Quilts...Crooked Creek has made their own version of these for 1/2 square triangles...taken a Plexiglas square and routered out the line for the 1/2 square seam so it fits flat when you are cutting....they get an arm and a leg for them and I've only bought the smallest one but they sure make trimming easier!!

That is interesting that they have such a similar product to the Loc Bloc rulers. I wonder who came first. Their pricing is similar as well.

However, the big difference is how the Bloc Loc rulers are designed such that the lip of the inner bevel "locks" up against your seam line (assuming you press to the side of course) so you don't have to do any manipulation/sliding to make sure the seam is along the center diagonal. I was able to trim up 128 HST in very, very little time with much less effort and stress and every single one of them are perfectly cut with the seam in the exact middle.

Now I just wish they could come up with something similar for an hourglass block!!!

I use sticky back sand paper pieces. I put one in each corner and then a couple around the ruler. For a 6" x 18" ruler, I probably use about 12 small pieces of sand paper. Grips fabric really, really well. I have also thought of using the " gel dots" they sell in the scrapbooking section of Walmart/JoAnn, but not too sure how these would work.

Great idea, Misseva! We quilters sure are an inventive bunch!

Looks like a perfect solution to me! I knew about the BlocLoc for HST's, but don't know if they have others rulers for other blocks.
