I don't think that is copping out. People send their quilts out to be quilted. They buy labels for their quilts. If you want to have someone piece for you, go for it :D:D:D

don't think of it as (copping out) i know a number of (quilters) who hate the piecing process- they just want to do the quilting -they simply hate getting to that point- and have other people piece for them all the time- nothing wrong with that- everyone has their own (loves and dislikes) when it comes to creating a quilt.
farm it out if you can find someone- you might just develope a great new friendship!

I agree that it is not copping out! A lot of my main business is finishing up quilts, blocks, pieces, etc. for someone else. Sometimes, it will be vintage blocks, sometimes just a UFO...but the satisfaction when you get something nice out of the blocks is awesome for people. I also do a lot of whole tops for others to quilt (like the Amish). There are plenty of people on this board who would do this for you. PM me if you want to talk more.

These are just too nice not to complete!! I love the colors.

Nothing wrong with it. You are to be commended for knowing your strengths and knowing your limits.

I love piecing, and being asked if I could be hired to do it would be like a dream come true. I'm am sure that are "piecers" in your area that would be glad to do it. Just make sure you see samples of their work. The applique is lovely and the quilting will be well done. Be picky with the piecing as well. I wish you well in finding someone. Or better yet, find someone to walk you through it step-by-step and become a piecer. It is very fulfilling! :-)

Do the part that you enjoy. Isn't that the point of having a creative talent? Artists don't have to frame their work!

Go ahead and find a good piecer to do it,
I've never farmed out piecing, but I have applique.
And, I farm out all my quilting on anything larger than a big crib to a fabulous LAQ in my Guild.

Piecing is my passion. I've tried hand quilting (I come from generations of hand piecers and quilters), tried free motion on my Pfaff Grand Quilter, and even played on a friends longarm. Hated all of it. So I understand about you not wanting to piece this gem. Find someone who's work you have seen and are satisfied with, and let them do it.
