Ok... so we collect our fabric for YEARS... and of course color trends change.

Have you ever gotten tired of one of the colors in your stash?

I'll start... I eventually did tire of country blue. It was EVERYWHERE back when!

not any particular color, but "calicos" bore me. I am so hooked on batiks. But I also love all the new florals.

I once read an article titled something like, "Using Up the Uglies". It talked about using the colors or prints you tire off or wonder why you ever liked them!!! It talked about how different they look once you cut them up.

I remember country blue and mauve....mauve.....mauve....

I know what colors I LOVE, several years ago when I still had my fabric stash in green plastic containers, and my sister was visiting from MI, we spread out all of my fabrics in piles and I suddenly realized what I didn't like, There were gaping holes in my color wheel....from that point on I started buying colors that I THOUGHT I didn't like and now my stash is more equal, I love the look of scrappy quilts and you know you just gotta have a variety!!

OK I love color...all colors really. But I lean towards warm colors...and I have hardly any blue in my stash -what-so-ever....if I so it is usually a trendy blue. SO I have holes for sure...

Anybody have any idea what to do with this? Its either a poly or a dk (I haven't ever looked at it that close); I got it from my grandmother when I received part of her stash - she used to make a lot of clothes. It's nice enough, I suppose, but not something I have a clue where to use.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I burned out on purple -- may take YEARS to want to use it again!
Purple never was a real favorite, but after using it as 40% of a challenge quilt (that ended up king sized) the very next quilt DH wanted me to make was a 25th anniversary quilt for BIL/SIL. Her color choice was "shades of purple; no other color", so I made a (king sized) love-knot of two shades of red-violet and two shades of blue-violet.
I have since gotten rid of every purple item of clothing in my closet, and most of the purples and red-violets in my stash!

    I don't think there is a single color that I don't like, or wouldn't use :D:D:D
