Strangely enough the one quilt I've hated working on was the first quilt I made for my grandson - a baby monkey wrench quilt. I think I disliked it so much because the pieces were so small. Lesson learned and my son and DIL loved it, which is what's most important.

I just finished putting the binding on one that I finished the top of 7 years ago! I still am not crazy about it but now feel less guilty when I start a new project. A friend saw the finished top and offered to quilt it for me. She did a beautiful job on it and now it is complete! Unfortunately, like you, I am still not crazy about it. Maybe my style and taste has changed.

That happened to me with the French Braid. It just seemed like I was sewing those blasted strips forever. Glad I finished it though. It is really pretty after it is done

Right now - a baby quilt. I LOVE the fabrics and to show them to best advantage it's just a 9" square with another great fabric surrounding. Stitched in the ditch around each square (right now I need something I don't have to think about) then started quilting a motif in each square. And I hate it. I should have left it alone.

I appliqued peony quilt and am hand quilting. 90% done. I can't believe I've been working on this since 11/15/11. Only 5 more blocks, and 6 setting triangles and the borders. And oh yes the binding. But that's my new year resolution...not finished until the last stitch on the binding. Very tired of it!!!

I get tired of everyone and wonder why I started it. Then the finished product feels so-o-o-o good I'm glad I stuck it out.

I've been in the same boat and find when I complete the project I love it. It seems some patterns have errors or you change this or that and in the end it is great. I tell my husband that I never know how they will turn out till they are done, so don't give up keep going and be surprised. Post photo and maybe someone will have a good tip for you.

I was thinking this last night. When it's asked "What part of a quilt don't you like ?" I think it's where I am with this particular quilt -may look better when done but the feeling is keeping me from wanting to sew. It's QAYG.
