Have you ever quilted a song?

Well, I've got lots of songs running around in my head because of this thread. I don't need another project and probably won't make a quilt, but I am subscribing to the thread to follow everyone's work. I'm looking forward to seeing all the "singing quilts" posted here.

I made a quilted sewing machine cover for my niece, who is a huge Beatles fan, I put a psychedelic sewing machine and VW bug on it, as well as words to a lot of the popular Beatles songs..she liked it a lot.

Be sure to let us know if you get it done! That would be a great personalized present.

a couple years ago our quilt guild had such a challenge. the wallhanging I made was "Eighteen Wheels & a Dozen Roses"I had some fabric of wheels and another of rose bouquets. I appliqued them all on . and then at the meeting everyone had to try and guess the name of the song. no one could guess mine. Another lady made a BIG green tractor. you probably can tell that I like country music!!!!! It was a lot of fun.

Funny, I just esterday was looking at embroidery library, they had a few Christmas Carols mostly.
I was the words of songs & picture of harp on one, christmas wreath, christmas tree.
One O Christmas tree O christmas, slient night and so on. It was embroidery but looked very nice, to make
a pillow, or block with the songs & picutres on it. Just a idea, if you like embroidery.

I'm working (still in design and fabric choice stage) on a series that are mid-60's songs with color titles...Black is Black (1966), Blue on Blue (1964), Mellow Yellow (1966), Purple Haze (1967), Red Rubber Ball (1966), A Whiter Shade of Pale (1967), and Green Tambourine (1967). Orange has me stumped, but I'm still digging. They'll each be monochromatic batiks.
Wow, I gotta see this one! It sound so cool.

Our quilt guild had such a challenge. I had a project I wanted to complete from a pattern I purchased years ago. It had appliques of tomatoes and foods with tomatoes like salad, soup, spaghetti. So I got on line and found a song "Home Grown Tomatoes" written by Guy Clark and sung by John Denver. Worked perfectly. ;-)
