Have you ever taken a UFO apart before finishing it?

I had one hanging on my design wall from retreat a year ago (I was so pleased with myself for finishing something ) but the longer it hung there, the less happy I was with it... It is now in block form and will be squared up and put back together (I have learned a LOT in year's time!)

I did that with a lap size quilt I started about 8 years ago. I put it away because the gold sashing I had used just didn't look right - way too bold for the finished product. So, I decided to rip the sashing out - at another time. Put it away. In January I pulled out my UFO's to get working on them, and found the lap quilt. I had decided to give this to a worker who was retiring. Well, I was appalled at the 'shoddy' work I had done. Granted, my skills have greatly improved over the years, so I did rip out 75% of the quilt. Added a different color for the sashing. I was very happy that I did the overall - overhaul.....the quilt turned out very nice. I wasn't 'embarrassed' to give it.
