Mines favorite spot is between me and the sewing machine. Second preference is on what I am sewing

We have a lap cat too, he would just love to sit with me when I sew but usually I have to boot him out, as he also tries to get up behind the machine etc Then he'll try to sneak back in and sleep on the ironing board, of course !

Wouldn't be bad but he has claws. ouch!!
Janet ... I think they like you! :D

Every time I sit down I have a cat in my lap. Every time I sit down to sew, I get at least an attempt....until I stop her. One of my cats insists on being in my sewing room with me...if I shut her out she yeowlllls at the door until I let her in. If I turn away from my machine, she is immediately trying to jump into my lap. It's a true test of wills!!

I sew every night with help from my cat. He is usually trying to lay in front of the machine while i sew. If I can get him to stay to one side it is OK unless I is when I am assembling a big quilt. When he decides it is time to attack the needle he gets kicked out. My DH says he thinks he is the quilt police.

Nope, but I have been sat upon (or dog tried to sit on me) by a HUGE Lab who thought she was a mini poodle or something small. YUP while sewing too.

    Love these 4 leggeds buddies.

I tried to find the picture I have of cat wrapped around the head of the machine, had to watch very closely as he was pawing at the needle going up and down. Only allowed it long enough to get a picture. Cat at home jumps in my seat every time I get up. I have to boot her out so I can sit down. Had a friend over one day and she was actually standing up sewing because she didn't want to boot the cat out of the seat. Gotta Love Em.
