My baby must need extra loving today. Everytime iI sit to sew he jumps in my lap. Do you know how hard it is to run a sewing machine with a cat in your lap. It doesn't help he is one of those slinky cats. You know the ones. They are so soft that they just slip right through your hands. Everytime I press the foot peddle he starts to slide. Wouldn't be bad but he has claws. ouch!!

this is both of my babies while I tried to use computer. They are both over 10 lbs

Cute babies! Haven't sewed with a cat on my lap, but have sewed plenty of times with a poodle in my lap. Not an easy endeavor.

My cat doesn't try to sit in my lap when I sew, but if I have to get up and leave a project in the machine for just a moment, this is what happens.

I cant sit down without a cat on my lap. Have to shut them out of sewing room or they drive me crazy. Play with the up and down needle, lay on my book of instructions, or lay on the fabric Im cutting. It is too dangerous for them in here.
But I love all 4 of them.

thanks. We just got them in Dec. they are 7 yrs old . you would think they have lived here forever the way they have taken over. My last cat was 18 yrs old and had to be put down a yr and a half ago. held out for a while but the house just wasn't the same . Forgot about the cat hair though. boy does the orange one shed.

I agree, I love them both, but between sewing and cats clawing my thighs down, I'd prefer to sew much better without them clinging on to me.
