I love the opportunity to showcase a quilt favorite on a special occassion. Don't do it anymore because I no longer have my dining table. Miss it for that purpose. Will need to find another way to incorporate my quilts into my "public life" (outside the bedrooms). Enjoy them!

Let's face it... you would be changing a tablecloth a lot more than you would a bed quilt. More opportunity to include the fabrics you love in your daily life!
Yes, I made several when I was just starting out quilting. I live alone and rarely eat at the table so they don't get dirty much, but have had them on the table when the Gkids were here. They wash beautifully. I did everything on the machine so they are very durable. And several of them are reversible with design on both sides. I love them and get many compliments on them.

I do it all the time. I have a red white and blue one I use every 4th of July. A halloween one too. I usually plan on it being a tablecloth and use only thin batting or no batting/

No it would be too much work for how worn it would get in no time.

I have a frien who was looking for a small throw rug in certain colors and never could find one. Until one day she looked up on here wall and there was one of her quilts she had not hand quilted yet, in just the right colors. It now is on her floor under her glass coffee table.

I have several table toppers that I have made and I love them because I can put hot things on the table without a hot pad. I usually just make it the size of the table top and don't have anything hanging or the edge. It works great.
